Please note: The charter gives preference in admissions to students who are currently enrolled in, or who reside in, the elementary school attendance area of the public elementary school in which Almond Acres Charter Academy is located.

Since 2012, we’ve provided a unique education for families on the Central Coast.  Full day instruction is available at our campus, located 7 miles north of Paso Robles in San Miguel, for students in grades K-8.

In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, and for the 2020/2021 school year, our At Home Academy will offer more flexibility for families seeking a safe schooling option at home while providing opportunities to stay connected to and interact frequently with a school community!

We accept Requests for Enrollment on a first-come, first-served basis, as space allows.

If you would like to know if there is an opening in your child’s grade, please call us at (805) 467-2095 or email us at info@almondacres.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a charter school?

Charter schools are open to the public, are tuition-free, participate in state tests, employ credentialed teachers, and do not discriminate.

Charter schools are granted greater flexibility in their operations and do not have to adhere to all the regulations imposed upon school districts.

Charter schools, like traditional public schools, are accountable for academic results, and must be able to demonstrate financial and organizational stability.

Will I need to obtain a district transfer?

No. As a school of choice, a release from your district or transfer is NOT required.

Do current students need to fill out a Request for Enrollment?

No, currently enrolled students are automatically re-enrolled for next year.  However, parents are asked to complete an Intent to Return Form in January.

Do siblings of current students who are not currently enrolled need to fill out a Request for Enrollment?

Yes. They must follow the same procedure as all new students requesting enrollment, but they will be granted priority if a lottery is to take place for their grade level.
